Community Meal Prep Club began as a passion project, and has evolved to become its own program with tremendous potential for impact.
The Mabardi and Connor Families sponsored the first Community Meal Prep Club at Food Rev Kitchen in April 2025.
Our story
Jess was offering Meal Prep Clubs through Mama Jean, her food business based in Melrose, MA.
It occurred to her early on that the program - which led participants through making healthy meals to bring home for the week - could also be adapted to donate meals to The Food Drive, a local food rescue nonprofit.
From 2023-2025, Mama Jean led 14 Community Meal Prep Clubs to make 1,530 delicious, seasonal meals for donation to The Food Drive. In the process, participants had a wonderful time cooking for neighbors, connecting with each other, and picking up some great new recipes along the way.
Community Meal Prep Club officially became its own 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization retroactive to October 2025 (when it was incorporated in Massachusetts).
